I never got to upload any of my color study art, but oh well... I don't think it'll suit my gallery (or what's existing in it). But recently I've been into two things: Dungeons and Dragons and webcomics.
Over winter break, next to my birthday, I decided I wanted to pick up learning this tabletop game. It would be my first time playing anything like this, but the idea of RPing outside of an MMO was fascinating, though I was kind of skeptical about the whole thing, 'cause I didn't know if my friends wanted to play and I wouldn't know how to join an existing game.
Turns out that the whole FNG crew wanted in, and I started a trial campaign as the DM. It was fun, but my friend,
Speaking of Chris Perkins, I found out that there are celebrity D&D matches with the writers and artists of Penny Arcade and PVP webcomics. At first I only knew them as Jim Darkmagic, Omin Dran and Binwin Bronzebottom, but now I love them as webcomic artists, too. I follow a whole plethora of long-form and strip-form webcomics, so I was so happy I could add to my reading collection. (Wil Wheaton as Aeofel Elhromane was in the celebrity D&D, too, and I follow him through twitter)
Then I realized that Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade are representations of Mike and Jerry. I've always wanted to try my hand at webcomics, so I thought, "Hey, why not use my muse and personas for my own strip webcomic?" I've been playing around with character designs for the last couple of days, and I've got two of them down out of five; my actual muse, Markus, and my first ever online persona, Caelean. Moss is in the works right now, but I'm not sure how to represent my other two, Zhirisa and Warruuna. Those will take time, but I hope to have something stable by the time summer break starts.
I want to call my series Mask and Muse (MaM), where my personas carry out sarcastic and comedic scripts that play out in my mind on a daily basis, though the webcomic updates probably won't be as frequent in the beginning. I'm still in the works, and I'm not sure if I actually CAN or WANT to commit, but it IS something I want to try out, at least.
Yep, my thoughts in a nutsh--
NO.
NOT ALL OF MY THOUGHTS.
The Avengers movie WAS AWESOME.
It was my first theater movie since Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I LOVE summer movies and comic movies in general, so it was a total fangasm in that theater. Especially The Hulk! OH GOSH, the Hulk is my favorite all-time Marvel character, and he practically stole the show! It was incredible!
That movie is another reason why I want to at least do one MaM strip; I want Moss to have a Hulk form and just go "MOSS SMASH!" across one of the panels.
Oh, and
So there. Everything that has happened to me in the past few months. You guys need to remind me to try out this webcomic dealy thing.
Until next time!
